Worried About Lingerie? Here’s 6 Ways I Can Help

For some women, a boudoir photoshoot is an exciting opportunity to treat themselves to some new lingerie and to celebrate their favourite outfits from their collection.

Yet for others, the idea of finding lingerie to wear can actually hold them back from booking a photoshoot. So many women tell me that shopping for underwear that fits well is overwhelming, others are lost when it comes to putting outfits and accessories together in styles they like, and many are also worried about actually putting the outfits on with all the complicated fastenings etc.

That’s why helping with lingerie is such an essential part of my role at the studio! Let me talk you through 6 ways I can help you with lingerie for your boudoir photoshoot.

1 - Lingerie Finds

Every week in our Facebook group I share links to lingerie that I think would work well for a photoshoot, either something I’ve found while shopping online or something fabulous a client wore in the studio.

The Vixens of Foxlow is open to any woman over 21yrs who is considering or planning a photoshoot, so you don’t even have to wait for your photoshoot to be booked if you’d like some inspiration. Our clients often share their photos and stories there too, and it’s a really positive and supportive community. I hope you’ll join us!

If you have any ideas for future content in the Facebook group, I’d love to know about it. You can also ask for help by posting as yourself or anonymously in the group.

2 - Style Guide

When you book a photoshoot with us, I’ll send you a welcome pack in the post with a printed copy of our magazine and our style guide for you to read. The magazine is full of client stories, photos and articles for inspiration. The style guide talks you through how to prepare for a photoshoot and examples of lingerie you might wear on the day with suggestions of what to look out for and loads of advice.

3 - Website Recommendations

Having spent countless hours shopping with ladies of all shapes and styles to find gorgeous lingerie for their photoshoot, I have accumulated a list of my favourite online shops which I am happy to share with you when you book your photoshoot. From plus size to petite, and from luxury to bargains, there’s a real range to suit everyone.

4 - Personal Shopping

Once you start shopping, I’m here to support you as much as you’d like. For many clients that means sending me photos or links and asking for a second opinions e.g. would you choose this or that, or do you think this would look good with that, or what fourth outfit would you suggest if I’m wearing these three.

Other clients want more specific help e.g. I’m trying to find a pink bodysuit in this size, can you find anything? I can’t promise I can always find exactly what you had in mind, but it’s rare that I can’t find anything to suggest and I do enjoy a challenge!

Some clients are at a loss where to start, perhaps they’ve never bought underwear for anything other than comfort, and for them a take a very different approach. I would begin by asking about your personal style for clothing in general - what are your favourite shoes? Do you wear jewellery? What outfit makes you feel most confident?

Then I would get a better understanding of what you want from this lingerie. What photos are you drawn to on our website? How you want to feel in the photos? Once I’ve got a clearer idea and you’ve told me your sizes, I can send you some links to suggestions as a place to start and we can work together from there.

5 - Outfit Styling

On the day of your photoshoot, we’ll begin by sitting down together to look through everything you’ve brought with you and finalising the outfit decisions. If you’re confident with your 3 or 4 lingerie choices that’s fine, but if you have more options to choose from I cam help you narrow down the options.

Then I can help you choose which accessories should go with each outfit and decide on the order in which you should wear them. I also have a collection of accessories at the studio including high heels, lace robes and white shirts that you can borrow if you’d like.

6 - Dressing

Let’s be honest, a lot of lingerie is very complicated to put on and fiddly to fasten! This is especially tricky if you have limited mobility, trouble with your grip, or simply if you’re wearing false nails etc.

There’s a cosy private changing space in the studio where you can get ready behind a curtain, but I will be available if you want any help getting ready. I’m an expert at attaching stockings, lacing corsets, fastening hook-and-eyes, buckling shoes and clipping necklaces!

So if your fear of lingerie or shopping has been holding you back, I hope you realise that you’re not alone. I can be your guide both before and during your photoshoot to make sure you look and feel fabulous in every photo.
