Tracey’s photoshoot transformed her from artist to model for the day

It's always a special honour when a fellow artist books a boudoir photoshoot with us, and Tracey’s photoshoot was no exception. She prides herself in celebrating the beauty of the women she paints, but often struggled to see that in herself. This summer she found the courage to book a shoot and gave us creative freedom in the studio, trusting our style advice throughout and we had so much fun too! Finally she sees herself as the work of art she is, inside and out.

"Over the years as a portrait artist, I had created many pastel drawings and oil paintings of ladies, capturing their beauty and celebrating the women they were. I suppose I had always secretly hoped one day I would find an artist who could to do this for me.

In deepest lockdown, with intense stress at work and after three months of isolation away from my lovely partner, both having homes and families of our own, I was beginning to slip into a dark place. Our holiday was cancelled and I had nothing to look forward to. It was then I saw some Foxlow masterpieces on social media. A little voice in my head told me this was the time to treat myself.

I had gained weight recently, had knee problems and wasn't able to run, and my self-esteem had plummeted. Despite having very little body confidence, my first chat with Danielle gave me so much encouragement I decided to put my trust in the Foxlow team and book a photoshoot.

We discussed my interests, outfits and props and for the first time in months, I felt excited and I had something to focus on and look forward to. I started looking online at lingerie, rediscovering my wardrobe and having fun making plans for my shoot. Following other Foxlow ladies' stories online, I felt more and more inspired.

My shoot was towards the end of August and was truly terrifying and exhilarating simultaneously. I had taken lots of outfits to choose from, so Jon and Danielle cleverly made their selection while Louise listened to me, then skilfully created my tussled up-do hair style and gorgeous makeup.

Jon and Danielle couldn't be more professional. They really know exactly how to care for, direct and put their ladies at ease. I knew I had to trust them completely and not listen to those negative voices in my head. The shoot really was great fun and I was sorry when it was over.

I couldn't wait to see the photos, although I was still a little nervous. The day arrived and I took my daughter with me (the only person who knew about the shoot) and it was amazing. I was thrilled with so many of the images. I remember one black and white on the bed which actually took my breath away! Was that really me? Mission accomplished. I had works of art in front of me that flattered and were truly beautiful.

Yesterday I collected my album and last night I showed my partner. He loved it and together we selected some images for his wall and mine. I could not be happier with the outcome. My boudoir shoot saved me during lockdown and has given me that elusive work of art that celebrates the woman I am - inside and out.

I cannot thank Louise, Danielle and Jon enough. I would recommend them to everyone considering a shoot. Treat yourself. You won't regret it! Now, I am going to have another flick through my beautiful album . . . "
