Barbara gained body confidence in the studio a year ago and isn’t looking back

It’s now a year since Barbara overcame her fear of the camera with us at the studio, so we thought it would be wonderful to look back on her experience. It was amazing to see her confidence grow during her time with us and her beautiful photos have been complimented so many times since her shoot. I hope she never forgets she’s the beautiful woman we all see everyday!

I had gradually gained weight and was feeling unfit, leading to a real lack of body confidence. I didn’t enjoy choosing clothes any more and was finding it difficult to motivate myself.

I saw the lovely Sandra’s pictures from Foxlow on Facebook and was inspired! It’s something I’ve always thought about, but being a fifty something with three stone to lose and zero body confidence, I dithered. I was daunted by the idea and was worried there would be pressure to pay loads for the photos.

I had an initial chat with Danielle, who was very understanding and put me at my ease, and nervously decided to go ahead. How glad I am! Danielle answered all my questions and sent a handy info email, but as the photoshoot approached I was so nervous that I nearly didn’t turn up!

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Carly did my hair and makeup for the shoot, she knows me really well as she’s styled my hair and makeup before and was careful not to go overboard as I wear very little makeup usually. She did a brilliant job and I loved the feeling of being pampered!

Just as everyone says, I felt nervous when I first stepped out of the changing room, but Jon and Danielle soon put you at ease and I really enjoyed the shoot! Much to my surprise as I usually hate having my photo taken and do anything to avoid it.

Danielle helped me pick from the selection of clothes and undies I'd brought along and was great at modelling poses to show me what to do. Jon is superb at making you feel at ease in front of the camera and the session sped by; we spent lots of time laughing as he snapped away. When I first saw my photos, I was in shock… I loved them all and couldn’t believe it was me!

Ordering my photos was very easy and I didn’t feel any pressure to buy pictures. Of course, I ended up buying lots and now have a lovely box full of photos to look at which I love. I just wish I could have had them all!

I have just had one enlarged to go on the wall in the bedroom to remind me of my special day and can honestly say I'm thrilled, and not a little gobsmacked!
