Shayne-Marie discovered she can feel sexy as a plus size woman

For a long time, Shayne-Marie’s confidence was attached to her size. She lost confidence when she gained weight, and she only felt pretty when she lost weight. After a difficult relationship ended, she decided it was time to finally change things with the boudoir photoshoot she’d always wanted! Now she knows that she can look and feel sexy as a plus size woman.

I was in college when I first gained a lot of weight, and it really knocked me down. I lost all my confidence within myself and I didn’t feel attractive at all .

I went through a big weight loss journey where I lost 5 stone and I felt pretty again, but not a year later I got into a relationship and I gained all of the weight back over the 4 years. With the toxic relationship I was in, I once again lost all confidence! I started covering up more wearing baggy clothes and not even doing my make up as I felt like there was no point.

I have always wanted to have a boudoir photoshoot and I decided it was finally time! I finally broke free of any doubt and wanted to make myself feel beautiful again. I was fed up of putting myself down, all because I am a bigger woman. We are all beautiful no matter our size!

I did start to feel nervous beforehand, but I was also so excited! The process for preparing for the shoot was so simple, Danielle and Jon were very clear on what to bring, how to arrive and how to find the studio, there was no stress at all.

Danielle was absolutely amazing with the hair and make-up, I felt so pampered while sipping on my Prosecco. Then in the studio, Jon and Danielle and I had a good laugh. They both made me feel comfortable and confident, it was such a lovely atmosphere! They demonstrated what to do and made sure that I was okay doing the poses and took into account any health issues I had.

After my shoot I felt so confident in my body. I can’t describe the feeling, I felt on top of the world!

When I saw all my photos in the slide show I couldn’t believe it was me! I had such a rush of emotions! I was astounded at how beautiful the photos were and a wave of “wow that’s really me I really did it” hit and the hardest part was choosing my favourites!!

I think after this experience I definitely feel a lot more confident in my own skin and that I can look and feel sexy even though I’m plus sized!
