Sam celebrated her love of cosplay and got to see herself as others do.
Sam’s body confidence had plummeted, so when she heard how much her work bestie’s photoshoot had affected how she saw herself, she decided to follow in her footsteps. She never thought she would be able to do a shoot like this, yet it was actually the most fun she’d had in ages! Her passion for cosplay inspired an amazing green lingerie look with Loki accessories, and her New Rock boots worked perfectly with her harness and celebrated her personal style.
My body image has completely plummeted since my teenage years, and I'm far less confident in my looks, it's hard to look in a mirror and not nit-pick my flaws and try to hide the parts I hate about myself.
My work bestie did a boudoir shoot with Foxlow and just hearing about what it did for her confidence and how much of a fun and empowering experience it was, I decided then and there to book one. The prep process was a really fun mix of nerves and excitement. Putting the looks together, getting help from Danielle for the stuff I was unsure about, buying things for myself I never have before. It was all so new but I loved it!
It was lovely to sit and have a proper pamper session with my makeup and hair, Danielle listened to exactly my preference and put a wonderful spin on my normal look that was just stunning, and i didn't even recognise myself to start off with!
I was very nervous beforehand, wondered if I could really do it, but the second I stepped out of the changing area in my first outfit. The nerves just vanished and it was so much fun.
Jon and Danielle talked me through everything, made sure I was happy and comfortable, got the posing just right for each shot and it was a right laugh at times! I couldn't have felt more at ease honestly.
After the shoot I felt like I'd accomplished something huge that I never thought I would be able to do, and yet it also felt like the most fun I'd had in ages!
I was shocked. I didn't think I could look as good as those photos made me out to be, I was so happy! My book will be on my bookshelf in the lounge so I can look at it whenever I want, and I can show any guests who want a peek!
I now know that I don't need the perfect angles and lighting to look good, I can exist knowing that I'm not seen the same way through people's eyes as I am my own. I'm biased! They're not, and my fiancé may be right when he says that I'm beautiful!
