Introducing Boudoir at Foxlow Photography
We are beyond excited to announce that Boudoir has arrived at our cosy Derbyshire studio!
What is Boudoir?
Many think the term Boudoir means bedroom and therefore believe that its namesake photography style is all about looking sexy and seductive. However, the term actually originates from an 18th century French word for a woman’s private rooms; a place where she can relax and be herself. This is a far better description for Boudoir photography in our eyes. Intimate portraits that are not only beautiful and sexy, but which also reveal something of your natural style and personality.
What were you waiting for?
We believe that boudoir is all about looking and feeling fabulous, so we hunted the length and breath of Derbyshire looking for the right makeup artist to work with. Then we found Louise from Diamond Divas Hair, Makeup and Beauty who was not only talented, but friendly and approachable. I know you'll love her!
Where did you start?
We invited two friends of the studio to be the first to experience a boudoir photoshoot at Foxlow Photography. Louise styled their hair and makeup at the studio and I hope you agree they look beautiful!
What happened next?
In the studio, Jon and I worked together to experiment with different set-ups; he focused on the "big picture" with lighting and photography whilst I focused on styling the ladies and helping them with poses. Despite working together for many years, this was the first time we've collaborated in this way and it was such good fun!
Who are these photoshoots for?
They're for women of any age (over 21 years) who wants to celebrate a moment in her life or challenge the way she sees herself. Whether you're plus size or petite, we use lighting and posing to accentuate your favourite features and see past your insecurities with stylish and sexy portraits.
