At last, Carrie can see herself as others do

Carrie’s confidence had grown following her weight loss, but she couldn't shake insecurities and doubts about her appearance. She was worried that she would look ‘hideous’ in her photos, but was amazed to see this beautiful woman staring back at her. Now she can finally see herself as others do.

Being overweight really affected my confidence, and suffering with endometriosis made it hard to lose weight and for it to stay off. When I lost weight, I gained a lot more confidence in myself and my image, but those insecurities were still there.

My friends had been to Foxlow Photography and told me how empowering it made them feel. I’d seen so many lovely pictures of the other ladies on their social media, I thought ‘I could do that’ but I didn’t think I would look as amazing as they did.

I had a lot of help from Danielle whilst I was planning my photoshoot and it was fun choosing different lingerie outfits. I’m pleased to say I’m happy with every outfit I chose, they looked great on camera and I felt like myself.

I was very nervous and apprehensive on the journey down, imagining that I would look hideous and fearing the worst. Yet I was made to feel at ease right from the start, talking things over with Danielle and Jon I felt more relaxed in no time.

Charlotte was amazing and really listened to my preferences when it came to my makeup and hair. I really enjoyed being pampered and she made me feel amazing.

When we moved into the studio, Jon showed me the different areas and talked me through what would happen before we started, then Danielle suggested which outfits would be suitable for each part of the shoot before I got changed. Danielle helped me into my outfits when needed and they both took it in turns to show me how to pose before each photo.

I was made to feel relaxed and was able to show off my cheeky smile. I felt so beautiful from all the positive feedback I was given during the shoot.

I cried on the way to the viewing as I was so worried I would look hideous, but once I saw my pictures I was speechless. I couldn’t quite believe it was me! My partner came with me for encouragement and a second opinion, and he was truly amazed too.

Jon helped us to make a shortlist, offering advice and help where we needed it, and we chose to have an album of our favourites. I thought it was the perfect way to show friends and family how amazing the day was, and something special for me to look back on too.

We will definitely be displaying our favourite photos around our home, but I also chose one to display in the dance studio where I do my burlesque dancing to show others just how amazing the experience is!

I didn’t believe how good I looked since my weight loss, but now I can finally see how others see me. It’s given me such a confidence boost to hear so much positive feedback from everyone who’s seen my photos, and some people didn’t even recognise me at first.

No matter how nervous you are, my advice is to definitely do it. I know you won’t regret it!
