It's fair to say that every woman has some nerves before her boudoir photoshoot, but I think Emma was the most nervous client we'd ever photographed. The colour drained from her face when she walked into the studio and I honestly thought she might run out the door never to return!

“Somehow she found the courage to trust us”

Yet somehow she found the courage to trust us, get changed and go for it. Now one of her favourite photos is hanging on our studio wall to inspire others and gets compliments every week!

We have to keep reminding ourselves how she overcame her fears to create this photo.

“having kids can change the whole way you feel about yourself”

"When there’s so much pressure on women to look good all the time and having kids can change the whole way you feel about yourself. To say I was slightly nervous, would be the biggest understatement of the year...

I'm a 30 year old mum of two and I split up with my husband at the end of last year, so I’m learning to readjust and find me again!

“It was difficult to remember who I was”

I lost a lot of confidence when I had my children so young: accepting the new permanent feature of a mum-tum was hard and I felt like I never really found who I was. Being “Elliot and Mollie’s mummy” is a very privileged title but for so long it was difficult to remember who I was before the children.

When you’re stood in the playground, half asleep, stressed up to your eyeballs with greasy hair and not a stitch of make-up on you can feel like you’re totally past it!

“I knew I wanted to know more”

I saw an advert for the boudoir photoshoot on Facebook and thought “What have I got to lose?!” After seeing the beautiful pictures that Foxlow has produced, not to mention the amazing reviews left behind, I knew I wanted to know more. After speaking to Danielle for a couple of weeks I knew Foxlow was the one for me!

“I was so excited and absolutely terrified”

Before my shoot I was so excited and absolutely terrified at the same time. I’d been wanting to do something like this for a while, but had never had the confidence to do it.

“I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone”

Although I was ridiculously nervous I knew I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and knew that Danielle and Jon would be the perfect pair to help me do that.

After receiving their guide to getting ready for the shoot, everything seemed so easy! They listed everything you’d consider before the shoot (plus a few other bits you wouldn’t even think about!) and the advice on types of underwear and ways to personalise your shoot were great!

“Being pampered just made me feel even more excited”

Getting my make-up done and hair styled was one of the nicest parts of the day. Louise could tell how nervous I was and was amazing at keeping me calm. I didn’t have a clue how I wanted my hair and make-up, but Louise gave me advice and ideas on what would suit my complexion and make my blue eyes pop! In the end I loved my look, and being pampered just made me feel even more excited.

The ordering process was so easy, the only hard bit was choosing the photos I liked. There were too many! Danielle was so patient in my decision making; there was no rush and she was great in taking me through each photo and helping me choose my final shots.

“It was totally hassle free”

I ordered a boudoir book of 20 pictures, I simply chose the images and Danielle and Jon did everything else! They chose which shots would be better for the different layouts and how best to present them. It was totally hassle free – I just paid and then waited eagerly to see the final results.

“My book is better than I could ever have imagined”

I am so, so, so proud of my boudoir book! I will take every available opportunity to show it off (and regularly do!). It’s beautifully presented and better than I could ever have imagined.

It’s something I can always look back on when I’m feeling low or bad about myself and have a reminder of how I went out of my comfort zone and did something amazing.

“I’ve definitely become a lot more confident”

Since the photoshoot I’ve definitely become a lot more confident and more comfortable with who I am and how I look. It’s made me feel a bit more confident with my sexuality. I can say now that I am sexy and I can look as desirable as I did in those pictures.

Just being able to see myself in a totally different light is worth its weight in gold and I will forever be thankful to Danielle and Jon for bringing out that side of me.
